Some laptops are exciting because they try something new. The NovaBook Air 14 is exciting because it gets nearly everything familiar exactly right. It is thin without feeling fragile, fast without running hot, and long-lasting without becoming heavy.
After two weeks of daily work, video calls, photo editing, and our standard lab tests, it emerged as the easiest ultraportable to recommend to most people. Power users may want more ports and gamers will need dedicated graphics, but neither caveat changes the bigger picture.
NovaBook Air 14 specs
Design: Quietly premium
The recycled aluminum chassis has just enough texture to hide fingerprints, while the hinge opens with one hand and stays planted during typing. At 0.46 inch thick and 2.7 pounds, it disappears into a shoulder bag more easily than most 14-inch rivals.

The keyboard is crisp and evenly backlit. Its large glass trackpad tracks accurately from edge to edge, and the 1080p webcam produced clean, natural-looking video in mixed office lighting.

Display: OLED done right
The 14.2-inch panel combines rich contrast with a sensible 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Text looks exceptionally sharp, motion is smooth, and the screen reached 528 nits in our measurements—enough for a bright room or a shaded patio.
Our colorimeter recorded full sRGB and 98% of the wider DCI-P3 gamut. Creators can trust it for photo and video work, while everyone else gets streaming video that looks suitably cinematic.
Performance: Fast where it counts
The 12-core Arc C2 processor handled dozens of browser tabs, two external displays, and a large photo export without obvious slowdown. In our cross-platform productivity benchmark it finished 17% ahead of the category average.
Battery life: A true all-day machine
In our video rundown test, the NovaBook lasted 18 hours and 42 minutes. That is excellent even by current ultraportable standards and roughly three hours longer than its predecessor. A compact 65-watt charger restores 50% in a little over half an hour.
